We know how hard it can be to get into a new role without experience and without the role, how can you get the experience?!

This is why we have created our trainee programme ‘The Chiltern Graduate Scheme’.

If you can demonstrate you are good with numbers, have excellent attention to detail and brilliant written English,
we will train you up from ‘newbie’ to ‘superstar’, supporting you and paying for your qualifications along the way!

The Chiltern Graduate Scheme

It’s the people that make a business what it is and our company is no different.
Our clients and team mean everything to us. We strive together and achieve together.
We’re incredibly proud of our culture and have invested a great deal of time and resource in developing a framework to underpin every element of who we are as individuals, and who we are collectively as a business.

How we approach recruitment, how we do business with clients and how we interact as a team are all guided by our company values.

Values & Behaviours

Just as we do as individuals, Chiltern also has its own set of collective values and behaviours.

It’s not something we simply pay lip-service to, it’s an integral framework – some would say, our DNA – which governs who we are and how we work.
The values we aim to demonstrate at all times are; World Class Quality and Innovative & Forward Thinking

Growth & Development

We champion all aspects of personal and professional development and support all members of our team to be the very best version of themselves.

From exam qualifications to personal mentoring and everything in between, we focus a lot of attention in upskilling our staff meaning they are fulfilled and happy and we’re assured they are providing top quality service to our clients in the areas of work they value most.

The Perfect Paraplanner Graduate

Ok, so first things first, your degree subject isn’t the most important thing to us because we believe pretty much all skills are transferable – industry knowledge can be taught but the right attitude can’t. Yes, an industry related degree would be advantageous, but all we ask is that you have a real interest in financial services and that you have achieved at least a 2:2.

Personality wise, you need to have great attention to detail, a real hunger to learn the job and the ability to stand on your own two feet. We give you everything you need to succeed – tools, training, a super mentor, you name it, but it’s a busy working office and using your own initiative goes a long way. Oh, and we want an active member of the team – someone who’s not afraid to come in and roll their sleeves up on day 1, so if you’re the more passive type, then this isn't the scheme for you.

The Paraplanner Role

We know what you’re thinking, ‘What on earth is Paraplanning?’

It’s a little known but rapidly in demand career that has grown in recent years.

In simple terms, a Paraplanner is someone who works with a Financial Planner or Financial Adviser to do several their non-client facing tasks involved in preparing and administering a Financial Plan or Report for a client.
